Samaria Gorge Tour- Easy Way  – The Queen of Gorges 

Experience “the lazy-tour” without stressing over the 16km long walk

If you don’t wish to walk the whole Samaria gorge this is a nice way to do the tour without stressing over the 16km long walk. By doing the Lazy way of the gorge you will not miss the spectacular views of the White Mountains ( Lefka Ori ) and the entrance!
Walk the gorge from the end until the Iron Gates or until wherever you feel like. Remember to take photos of the amazing gorge entrance and admire the natural beauty of Crete. Swim at the Libyan sea and taste typical Cretan food at one of the small taverns in Agia roumeli.

Indicative Time-Table:

05:15-6:30 Departure from Chania
7:40 Arrival to Omalos plateau (optional breakfast)
8:15 Arrival to Xyloskalo (entrance of the gorge)
9:00 arrival at Sougia (taking the boat to Sougia)
9:45-10:00 arrival at Agia Roumeli. Hike from the bottom of the gorge as long as you wish.
17:30 departure from Agia Roumeli
18:15 arrival at Sougia. Depart to Chania
20:00-20:30 arrival to Chania

General Information:
Pick up from your hotel or a place nearby. After approximately 1.5-hour drive through a beautiful landscape, we reach the plateau of Omalos (see the
entrance of our national park) and then drive to Sougia. From there we continue our journey with the boat following the coastline to the village of
Agia Roumeli! During your stay in the village, you have plenty of time to cross Samaria gorge from its exit to the Iron Gates. The distance you can walk is 3 km from the village to the entrance of the gorge and 1.5 km further up to the Iron Gates, one of the most interesting points of the gorge. Late in the afternoon we take the same boat to get back to the port of Sougia where our coach is waiting for you in order to drive us back to Chania!

Please note that the Entrance Fee and Boat Ticket are NOT included and are paid on the bus in Cash.

Entrance ticket to the Gorge:

Adults:10€, Students with a valid ID and people under 18 with proof of age do not pay for entry.
Boat ticket for the transfer from Sougia to Agia Roumeli and back:

Adults:20€, Children (up to 12 years old): 10€
